What can I put on my tables at my reception so they don't look so boring and bare?

I am doing a restaurant buy-out to have a cocktail reception. We will have high-tops and rectangular tables that seat 10. Since it is a cocktail reception, there will NOT be any silverware, glassware or plates on the table. I will have deep red table runners on all the tables, and our centerpieces are cake tiers with the favors stacked on them...no floral centerpieces. I also bought a lot of candles that I plan to put on the table. But what else can I use that will help add character to the tables?

Hi. I love it as you have it. No need to clutter things up.

I know you said there will be no glassware, silverware, etc. However, once the guests have a drink and a plate with some appetizers it WILL fill the table.

I like things simple and elegant and that is what your arrangements sound like. Again, in my opinion, that is enough.
Reply:I used small square mirrors. They work like confetti, but are a little more elegant.
Reply:Put a small plate of goodies at each spot.

One chocolate truffle

One white chocolate truffle

a chocolate covered strawberry

and a breathmint

its cute, somewhat inexpensive, and takes up space.
Reply:I like a few ideas here put together.. why not have rose petals and put candles on top of small mirrors..the light and glow is awesome...I wouldn't clutter the table too much...less is more I think.
Reply:Rose petals spread around the tables can look really stunning. You can buy real ones from a florist or even fake ones, in all different colours, including silver and gold to match your colour scheme.
Reply:You can sprinkle rose petals or little confetti hearts over the tables
